Step 4: You Forgot The Ammunition?

Sorry, sorry! Yesterday I forgot to explain one more step before the real battle. We can't expect to win a war without some missiles and here our ammunition is the content! If you don't have content, well... you don't have anything to fire at Google!

Let's craft some firepower!

In my case it was relatively easy because the product owner offers a lot of content for the affiliates to use. But it's not always like that. Here is what I would do to create some content:

Let's count in japanese! :D

Ich)First, I'll insert the keywords I'm trying to rank for in Google and see what's actually ranking.
Note: Video, squidoo, hubpages and articlealley showed up. What do you think I need to do? Maybe videos, articles and 2.0 sites? :)

Ni) Let's take a look at the hubpage that ranked 7th.
As you can see, it doesn't have to much content and it's not very usefull for my purposes (getting ideas to write about). The other 2.0 had the same content so they weren't usefull neither (but now I know what type of weapons my enemy has!)

San) Check out if the product owner has some resources for you to use. In my case, he has awesome content to use.

Yon) If the product has a sales page maybe you can take some ideas from there. You are promoting his stuff so I don't think he'll get mad at you for some Ctrl+C Ctrl+V... Not Legal Advice!

Go)Another great place for content-seekers is ezinearticles.com. You shouldn't steal it but you can read it and look what are people writing about. Then you take the ideas and write your own articles. (This is how I created part of the content to promote IM Remarkable as an affiliate).

Roku) Don't foget your old friend! Google always can help. Insert your main keywords (Muscle Building in this case) and see what shows up. 99.9% of the time you'll find something to write about. (Used this method too for the IM Remarkable content creation)

Nana) Hit the keyboard! The last step is to write and organize all the content you found with this research. It doesn't have to be perfect (like Howie says: Perfect things never get published!), it just has to be done!

Right now I'm installing Camtasia so, hopefully, the next post will have some videos!
